Born in New Delhi in 1970, Sharon Gupta graduated with English Honours from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi in 1990 and then acquired a Master’s Degree in English Literature from Delhi University.
She joined the Civil Services in 1994 and is currently posted in a field office under the Ministry of Communications in Chandigarh. She is married and has a teenage son.
Sharon's first novel was Riders on the Storm, a thriller set in the Vijayanagar Empire of 16th century India. It was a self-publishing effort and received positive reviews. This was way back in October 2000. Since then her romance novel Toofani Days, Valentine Nights was published as an ebook on www.abook2read.com in the year 2012, her third novel was published by Publish America and her new work is due to be published by Tara books this year. Despite having a substantial body of work, Sharon realized that she lacked experience in the world of publishing and that without professional assistance, her work would not get the attention it deserved. Hence, she set out to try and find the right literary agent. Happily, she hit it off with Anuj Bahri and Sharvani Pandit of the Red Ink Literary Agency in Delhi. They represent her now.
